We had an appointment scheduled to see an apartment. The agent refused to come and show us the property. They demanded us to look at the property by ourself using a self-guided tour. They sent us a code to open the door. My friend tried to unlock the lockbox on the door, but it would not open! She tried so many times and her fingers were in pain. The code does not work! Very rude customer service from the management company! Next time they won’t help us with anything since they didn’t come the first time. They are not welcoming and don’t want to come show the apartment to people.

I cannot say anything for other residencies they manage... but for the complex on E. Badillo i do not recommend living here...

Pros-
-Comes with fridge and stove
-Walking distance to Downtown Covina (Bars, Laugh Factory...etc)
-Maintenence gets resolved quickly
-Was given permision to bring my parakeets no charge (did not end up bringing them)
-Was allowed to place a Blink Camera above my carport.

Cons
-Thin Walls / Floors (hear tv's and convos)
-Cars allowed to park in non-parking spots
-Single Pane Windows in living room so you hear all the street noise.
-Medicine Cabinents are back to back so you hear all conversations in the bathrooms from neighbors.
-Any complaints to management just gets a text sent out to everyone which does not solve anything
-Noise complaints will just get you a "buy ear plugs" or a "buy a white noise machine" reply
-If you have 2 cars you need to purchase a parking permit to not get a ticket street parking
-AVOID end apartment by the laundry room, you will hear the loud water pipe in the bedroom each time someone washes (they say theres no water pipe) (video says otherwise) some people wash super early or late at night so be prepared to be awoken.
-When asked to break lease since apt was never quiet and was causing me stress after working 10+ hrs, I was only given option to payoff rest of lease and leave....
-Wasnt told my lease was not renewing or going month to month, found out I had to be moved out after .... I .... called and asked 2.5 weeks before lease ended.
- On lease deposit says would be returned no more than 21 calendar days. It has now been more than 21 days.

My partner and I have just rented our second apartment from SGV Management (she had a Pasadena studio for two years, and we now share a Pasadena 2-bedroom), and we highly recommend them. Their management is exceptional: their units are clean and well-maintained; their landscapes are beautiful and consistently well-kept; and their tenant portal makes it easy to pay rent, communicate, and report maintenance issues (to which they always respond quickly).

We are grateful to have found SGV Management--a group of experts that are truly committed to their properties and their tenants. We've let them know that as long as we reside in Southern California, we've chosen them to be our property managers.

I don't know what sparked all these negative reviews. SGV has always been thoughtful and the most responsive management I've experienced as a renter. I've lived in my residence 2 years and they've been quick about repairs and willing to work with me on particular requests like swapping a light fixture and letting me turn an unused outdoor space into a container garden.
The one time they refinished a neighboring apartment's floor and unintentionally fumed me out of my home they were very apologetic and give me advance notice now if they're doing any high vov work in the building.

I chose SGV Management because of their professionalism and look of their buildings. This is the first time I've rented from them and so far everything has gone well. They are responsive, professional and the property that I can speak of is clean and well maintained. The best management company in my opinion, to date. I never wrote a bad review on anything before, but this prop. management has caused me so much a lot of suffering that I can't be silent.
My apartment has noise and smell issues. In particular the noise insulation is very poor, I hear the neighbors below me all the time.
I asked the management several times to do something about it, but they dismissed me: they sent me to buy special headphones, rugs and told me that I don't have enough furniture to block the noise...As if the poor noise insulation is my fault. They didn't let me leave without a draconic penalty.

Couldn't live in my apartment without constant complaints from neighbours due to paper thin walls (even from the ground floor). I worked almost 100 hour weeks and I was only home to sleep. Asked management what I can do to try to resolve this, but they didn't answer.

Upon moving out they charged me for painting, which is standard wear and tear for the period I stayed, but they could not provide me with any picture evidence that warranted the charge. They also painted my windows shut throughout my tenancy.

I have lived at a SGV Management property for about a year and a half and had nothing but positive experiences with their staff. They are quick to fix any issues in the unit and always are quick to communicate when I contact them. I would highly recommend living in one of their properties.
