Maria did an incredible job for our family after my mom's passing. She was compassionate, knowledgeable, professional, knew the area well and represented us so professionally. She went above and beyond when issues came up to make sure things were taken care of so the property could sell, and we could close. Do not recommend doing business with Maria Sarmiento. I was part of a home purchase where Maria Sarmiento was on the seller's side. The foundation needed a complete reinstall/repair per the home inspection. We provided a request for repair from a licensed and bonded contractor. Maria Sarmiento counteroffered with a contractor that offered half the price of the scope of work listed in the estimate of the contractor we recommended. I was an inexperienced first-time buyer at the time and didn't think to ask the question why or simply looking up the contractor license.

It turned out the contractor operated under expired licenses and completed the work only half-way through, with undersized materials, and not per building spec or industry standard. The Contractor State License Board also found that the contractor operated falsely under an existing license.

It seems highly unethical and of self-interest, that realtors can get away with recommending fraudulent contractors for better counteroffer deals in contract negotiations and it should be illegal.
