Doug Smithe, our loan officer through a recent home purchase, impressed my Wife and I so much We had to follow up with a great review. Katie and I are both small business owners and our lives revolve around customer service. That being said, We tend to chose our professional relationships through referrals or good customer service reputations. Doug has a great name in the Austin area, and He seemed like the perfect fit for us. We went ahead and started working with Doug immediately. He had us in his office very quickly to get all of our info and numbers. After the first meeting, He already had a plan with projected loan amount/ payment/ APR/ ect.. He did instruct us to do a few minor changes to our existing accounts also. Now look, I understand things change through the loan process, and I have heard horror stories about loan officers too. The most impressive part of this whole deal is that virtually nothing changed from beginning to end numbers wise. What He told Us to expect is what actually happened!! This just amazed us that He had such a grasp on His system. The second part that was equally impressive to Us was the closing. His closing date was met and all paperwork was accurate, which We heard was a normal issue. I can't say enough wonderful things about Doug Smithe. He knows his job and system to a T. He is absolutely one of the most professional individuals we have ever worked with. Doug's character is beyond reproach, and I'd recommend him to anyone (which we will do!).
