I do not recommend this credit union. I had to wait about 75 minutes (the branch was not the least bit busy) to set up an account...that should have been a clue.

I've had an issue and they do not, I repeat, they do not, answer their phone when you call for help.

I find this bank the least professional. They were OK a few years back now they are lousy the system is down more often than not. I cannot change bank because it will effect my credit as I have credit card with them. More often than not my card gets refused although I owe them NOT A PENNY. Today they decided to change the look of the website just because they are fed up with it and the customer has gotten used to the way it worked. Now ALL of my Payee list has disappeared it is diabolical Thumbs down. One more thing their phone never gets answered at the best of the times.

A solar loan company obtained funds from this credit union on my behalf. The solar loan company paid out the complete funds prior to work being completed, and is no longer communicating with me, inhibiting me from selling my house for my upcoming government move. When I called, they said that they have nothing to do with this, aside from funding. I would recommend avoiding.

After I misplaced my debit card, I thought it was at home. Called the credit union to get a new one but asked they didn't cancel it. Turns out I lost it at a bowling alley and 2 weeks later around $200 was stolen. When I explained the whole story to Tammy she used my words against me and her and 2 others agreed I shouldn't be allowed to get my money back, even though I did say to not block my card, and even though it was clearly fraud. It felt like Tammy backstabbed me. And it also felt like these workers could easily have helped me, it's not like the money was coming out of there pockets ! The coldness felt real. Yes I asked that the card not be blocked but I thought I lost it at home somewhere. That's what I would like the credit union to know. I'll say it again. Tammy backstabbed me. She made it sound like she would help me when she instead used my story against me. And it also felt like these workers could easily have helped me, it's not like the money was coming out of there pockets !

I miss the old staff but for some reason many of them left all at once !!! Something doesn't feel right.

Been a member over 3 decades. Staff wonderful, friendly and generally accessible. Used to do all our banking here across multiple accounts but now migrating to other more attractive alternatives as there has been a steady increase in small fees and procedures in an attempt to extract more revenue. Now very similar to any bank; they are have lost their competitive edge and are rapidly losing that small personalized feel and focus of a local community institution as they maximize profit over membership service.
It's nice to have options, suggest you compare fees and service if you have significant deposits...

member for 16 years. unfortunately this small credit union is stuck in a generation long past. telephone communication is horrible, rarely can get anyone on the phone. website is glitchy and email communication takes days or longer. some new fees that most every other banking establishment has for free, etc. incredibly poor communication making very simple tasks that should be able to be completed online or within a few hours takes weeks. hopefully they can get up to speed and resolve some of their issues.

I’ve been a member of GASCU for decades and they have spoiled me for any bank. It’s a relaxed, friendly, and personable environment where the tellers and member services staff get to know the members and treat them with courtesy and respect. You can actually telephone the Credit Union and they’ll help you with your account questions and needs. My tip is to ask a couple of the Member Services staff for their direct phone numbers, so you’ll be most likely to get a quicker and more personalize response.
Contrast that with a large “centralized” bank, where they never answer or return calls and send your call overseas and after a half hour or more of phone prompts and miscommunication they routinely tell you you’ll have to visit your local branch in person! There’s really no comparison. Plus their interest rates are often better and without the hype and sales pitch.
