After a few initial rounds of phone tag, once I got a hold of Ty at APIA, I was *amazed* by how quickly she was able to research insurance options for my business and get me signed up for a plan that met my business' needs and client needs. I had my paperwork the next day. After having tried getting insurance for my consulting business through a national provider and having been told my business was too complex, I was so happy to be able to get insurance from a locally-owned place and support an Alaskan-owned and minority-owned business, and have what I needed so quickly. I also appreciated the pricing transparency: Ty told me the price for the first year (and what went to the national insurer and what went to APIA) as well as the price for subsequent years.
