My guess would be AM's good reviews are from professional contacts. This is a predatory company. Why is their website titled Central Maine Rents and not Asset Management? Why is the AM office in Augusta always locked during business hours - to avoid angry customers? They are not accredited through the BBB. They charge a 3% (of your rent - $30-$40) convenience fee (targeting people with poor math skills) to pay online - please remember here their office is locked during business hours. Good luck getting an email back/issue resolved after you have signed a lease. If you own a rental property and have AM manage your property - lose my number personally and professionally. I am not interested in associating with anyone who supports predatory businesses. Companies like this make their money on the backs of the poor and those unable to self-advocate. Helpful tip: No worries if you can't get into the building to pay rent, just walk around to the back of the building - their employees are vaping in the parking lot.

We have been leasing through Asset Management for the past 3 years and have had a very positive experience. Bruce is very responsive to requests and he is always is aware/concerned about how changes on the property will impact our business. Anytime we need anything or have an issue it is addressed in a very timely manner.

Mike Lee and the group at Asset Property Management have been excellent in the 3 years that I have lived in one of their units. The few maintenance needs I have had were attended to almost immediately and their online portal is super convenient I love my home and highly recommend them.

You want me to write a review? All right, Charlie. They’re bribing us with a drawing to get movie tickets, so, here’s a review for you. Don’t even enter me into the drawing, friends. This one’s free, just because you asked so nicely.

Management is utterly incompetent. Barely got anything done as far as paperwork goes- but I guess that balances out with the fact that they just don’t seem to give a damn whether or not things are signed or legal.

Maintenance has a pretty quick response time. However, this also balances out, as they don’t actually seem to fix any problems you have. They try their best, I’m sure, but I might as well have just tried to fix things myself, even though I know nothing about building maintenance.

The apartments themselves are pretty run down. No positive spin on this one, they’re just dingy and stained, worn out and smelling of cigarettes, and missing things like window screens and stove drip pans (which management will offer to replace, but will never actually replace.) The insulation is trash- prepare to freeze in the winter and bake in the summer.

At least the rent is cheap. Still, you’re probably better off living in your car.

Asset Real Estate Management has been a great company to work with as I moved from my home to a condo. They have always been very attentive to my requests and they respond quickly. Thank you all for making my condo ownership a positive experience.

They ask you to complete an application on their website prior to showing you a rental they have listed. Then you never hear from them. After calling them to follow up, finally receive a follow up call three weeks later. Then after showing a unit in which you are interested in renting, they tell you they will process your application that was submitted over 3 weeks ago. After not hearing back from them again on the processing of the application and following up a couple days later, they say the unit has been rented. In my opinion, they have a highly unprofessional way of doing business. I would not rent from them nor as a property owner would I list with them while you will lose rental income as the unit sits vacant for weeks. My recommendation is save yourself the wasted time and energy.

I have rented from Asset Mgmt. for 8 years and overall it has been a very positive experience. As with any business or residential situation, there is an occasional glitch, that's how real life works. I find that if you treat Mike, Rhonda, and the rest of the staff with consideration and respect, they treat you the same way. Whenever I have had a problem with the house, Mike has come out personally, along with professional repairmen when necessary - even on weekends - and done whatever it takes to get things up and running again. I the past, I have always worked directly with landlords I have had, and I much prefer a rental agency. I have heard from other people about what nightmares other agencies can be, and I do not find Asset Mgmt. to be like those others at all.

If I could give them a negative amount of stars I would. Beware of this property management company! My sister has dealt with a guy named Mike. She paid her deposit and first months rent, and upon her first entry into the apartment in Winthrop, to clean because it was poorly cleaned, she first noticed piles of dead flying stinging ants and then after being in the apartment for less than 3 minutes was covered in fleas from the knee down. After running out of this flea infested unit Mike made her re-enter with white socks on to prove the fleas were there. Lone behold....socks covered in fleas. She has not gone back to the apartment and cannot due to her daughters allergies and sensitivities to not only bugs but pesticides. They have not returned her money, she has paid for an apartment that is uninhabitable. Mike’s attitude and lack of motivation to right this situation is unacceptable and down right wrong. DO NOT RENT A PROPERTY FROM THIS MANAGEMENT CO.
