Absolutely amazing company who went above and beyond to get us into our dream home. Mike Patzius was the best to work with & his kindness and expertise is top notch. This is our 4th and final home with Veterans United and Mike made it so easy. Closing went smooth and we are now happily in our new home. They treated us like a person and not just another number on their books. Thank you so much Veterans United Home Loans!

*I feel the response below may be intentionally misleading to outsiders looking in. The realtor was a VU agent. I've recommended twice that the events be internally investigated. I was offered the proper rate but it would have delayed closing causing me to break the contract close date.*

The realtor and I spoke and she said that one of the homes I was interested in was hers so she would represent the seller and me, the buyer. After the buying process, I felt this was a conflict of interest and possibly caused her to not look out for my best interest at different points in the process. For example, she said shed send me thorough video tours of the house and explain any weird smells, small flaws, etc and i found that not to be true after i saw the home in person. She also recommended a home inspector who gave a veterans discount and after I looked up his website he seemed legit, but then I looked him up on Facebook and a bunch of people were thanking him for crypto currency.

For my loan officer, he was a NIGHTMARE. He is not looking out for people's best interest and is willing to try to lie to them to influence them in order to lead them away from their best interest and take their money. I will explain: He said my initial loan estimate was just an estimate and was going to change so I should go ahead and sign. I read it, saw a box (which came pre-checked) stating that I'd like to lock in an interest rate that day and I changed it to "not lock." I googled if rates were going to go up or down and saw it said down into 2025. So I signed it and spoke to my loan officer on the phone that same day and said I was going to "float."

After 2 weeks I got an email from The Military Wallet which said interest rates were going down and I texted my loan officer saying I wanted to see my new loan estimate with the lower rate. He said my rate was locked per a conversation over the phone a couple days after I signed the initial estimate. I told him i didn't remember speaking that day and that i clicked the do not lock button. He insisted rates would go up and it was in my best interest that I locked when I did. So I didn't agree, I just didn't respond. I figured maybe he was looking out for my in case rates did go up.

It came to my closing date and I called him asking him to walk me through the difference between my initial estimate and the final one and he said he couldn't explain it because he would have to pull up both and he couldn't do that. I looked at the veterans united website which said rates as of that day were almost 1% lower than what was shown in my initial estimate. I asked why my rate was still the same as my initial estimate even though I chose to float and he said it was because of that conversation a couple days after the initial estimate was signed. My phone record has 4 calls from that day and none are with him. I told him the only document I ever legally signed was the initial after I changed the box to do not lock. He said they had to lock 1 week out from closing (which contradicts what he just said) and I told him it would have been nice to have been a part of that conversation. Also, I told him that the website also said rates were "5.7%, the same as last week." It literally said that. He kept asking where I was getting that info and I told him the VETERANS UNITED WEBSITE. He told me they had to make the best decision at the time with the info they had. I told him who's making that decision because it wasn't me. He then tried to lie to me by saying its only 5.7 with a buy down of 2 thousand dollars. I told him I already have a buy down of 2 thousand and he was wrong. He then said " right right" and I asked him he could see how I was getting screwed and he acknowledged and said they had to do what they thought was best at the time. I'm out of available characters to use in this review but I took screenshots of everything from the crypto inspector, to the call records, everything. So VU if you want to see it its here. His negligence cost me $28,000 over the life of the loan. Don't use VU.

Felicia and her team made it very easy to get everything started for the loan process. Even while one of us was still in Korea (PCSing from two locations), we were able to upload documents and complete the document checklist. The whole process was seamless with the app to digitally upload and sync items. Felicia’s team was super helpful even when we asked to close 4 days early. The concierge portion, Gabby was a great asset in making sure we had information on utility companies, from power to internet. Great team of professionals, I would highly recommend Veterans United and Felicia’s team!

Working with Veterans United for my first home purchase was the best experience from start to finish. My loan officer Cindy Woodham is amazing! She is so knowledgeable, always responded quickly to any of my questions/concerns, made me feel so comfortable and at ease even when things got a little stressful for me during my home purchase, and she is very trustworthy. I will and have already - recommend Cindy Woodham and Veterans United to anyone looking to refinance or for any mortgage needs.
