Went to leave a review and it refreshed but here is the review I left before refreshing, in pictures. along with pictures of the list and more. Only so many characters can fit in this box so here’s my review and pictures of my bullet points along the way that I speak on. I have more photos but this makes my point proven true. I’m no liar and these were deemed unnecessary issues and fixes. I’m sure there will be a response but the photos speak for themselves. I claim no issues she pushes onto me after in the comments, as her move in report doesnt exist and last owner damages are still present! Don’t rent from this agency.

This place is a nightmare that Kathy needs to be terminated for what she did to my husband.and I. We filled out applications and each time she came up with something different for us to do and none of it was making sense. . She turned this rental process into a nightmare. Every single document we gave her shed look for something different and give excuses as to why she took so long working on helping us turned out she never did any work at all, Then she stated our process was on hold due to having a sick dog. Then the dog died. We decided that she couldn’t be trusted and asked for our deposit then we were told that we were approved then when we called her back she said was still working on talking to the home owners who were in the mountains she never called us back . then she was sick and then came the worst was that my husband had gave her money orders totaling close to $2000 + an $90 application fee that she did cash…she claims that she lost them or so she said she did. This person has yet to give us our deposit back.The whole experience was a nightmare, a headache and very stressful. She has yet to produce front copies of our money orders that we gave to Rental connection. I hope that no one ever visit this place again she’s such a scam artist with a potty mouth. .

Do yourself a favor, RENT FROM ANOTHER COMPANY. Very disappointed. We rented from this company for 2 years and we were very good renters. Paid rent early and as previous homeowners ourselves, kept the property in great condition. Upon occupancy, the rental home was dirty with unclean counter tops, kitchen cabinets and ceiling fans caked with dust. We had to basically clean it ourselves. We notified Rental Connections but they declined that it was dirty and said we were being "too picky." The showers did not work spraying water everywhere so we had to replace the shower heads. Master shower had mold on the wall and glass door (door did not even close shut all the way). Then the toilets did not work so we had to replace parts to make them work. We had to purchase a fridge, washer and dryer and blinds for the patio doors because none were provided and patio door knob and key. Throughout time, we made improvements on the property with communication and clearance from the landlord, but we were not reimbursed even though we were told at the signing of the lease we would be reimbursed. 2 weeks before our lease was up, the landlord decided to use our utilities (electricity and water) to remodel his house and power wash the fence to get the house ready for sale. Still we were NOT reimbursed even though our utility bills reflected the $90.00 extra usage for that month. We took 5 days cleaning the property and even cleaned out the gutters (which had not been done for years) yet we were not reimbursed for the items above. The landlord offered to sell us this rental property but we decided not to because Rental Connection was not professional nor did we want to deal with them. It took them 45 days to finally send us our security deposit back, but again, no reimbursement. I do have to say one good note, Theresa in the front office was helpful. She made sure the furnace and A/C unit was replaced because in August (move in date) the A/C was not working. It was 85 degrees in the house for days. Let's just say, the house was not at all ready for occupancy, but they did not care, they rented it out right away regardless of the condition.

We've had a great experience being renters through The Rental Connection. We were able to view properties on short notice and get our application in right away for our desired property. They worked with our schedule for our lease signing and have been wonderful to deal with. Our (minimal) maintenance issues have been addressed promptly and with courteous service people. We have been very pleased with everything and would highly recommend The Rental Connection to property owners and renters!

After reading all these reviews I was very skeptical of doing any business with this company. Only 4 reviews and all of them terrible, certainly everyone can't be wrong! Unfortunately it turns out most people are compelled to say something when they are dissatisfied and apparently less motivated to do so when they are happy. My girlfriend was in a situation where she needed a place to live in a specific location and needed it immediately! The Rental Connection was the property management group associated with the only home we could find available which would suit her needs. I have never dealt with a more helpful group of people! The agent went over, above and out of her way to make sure everything was taking care of immediately. Everyone gets busy and it is often hard to make everyone happy however I can tell you these reviews may well be true however it has to be a very small percentage of their total clients, as our interaction with the Rental Connection was absolutely stellar and we would recommend them to anyone!

It's unfortunate that I have to give such a horrible rating to a company. Make no mistake we lived in a home that The Rental Connection was our landlord for 4 years. In the first year it wasn't bad but as time progressed the lazier and unethical they got. If you are moving into a home of theirs which I DO NOT RECOMMEND...Go through Coldwell Banker is my suggestion but if you go with The Rental Connection make sure you take pictures the moment you move in. We didn't and we only took pictures when we moved out therefore when it came down to getting our security deposit back we only saw half of our check. We were accused of things that were done to the home when we had already moved in but didn't have the proof. If I would have known Kathy Goonen & her staff treated people the way they do we would have NEVER moved in. Kathy even walked through the home with us when we first moved in citing the VERY SAME issues that we saw then she put it on us when we moved out. But because we didn't take pictures after first moving in it was our word against hers. We also had a mold problem growing in the master bathroom and guest bedroom which was never touched after we put in a work order. It literally set for a couple of years. Other things that were needed to be done either didn't happen by the time we moved out or took several months to clear up. The most disappointing thing for my family and I was the dishonesty that came when we moved out and the extreme lack of professionalism. I am not from Fort Wayne and I have never experienced such blatant regard for tenants living in the home you are over & a true lack of wanting to help on important issues within the home. All I can do is share my experience and hope I can save families from making the same mistake we did. Bottom line they cannot be trusted find someone else or another company to rent from.

We own a house in Ft Wayne that we rent out using Rental Connections. We have been using them going on 4 years. We have had two wonderful tennents and now we are about to rent it out a 3rd time. They have done an amazing job placing great renters into our home that have taken great care of the house and always paid on time. We were upside down with our morgage and not living in the area so it was paramount that we got someone in there, (and had a company to take care of collecting the rent and maintance) and they did within 2 weeks!! We are nothing but pleased and very relieved to have a steady income coming in to cover our monthly morgage costs. We have been very happy and had all good experiences with Kathy and all the staff we ve worked with, and would definitly recomend them! 🙂

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! Rented for a year and it was nothing but stress and a headache. She will tell you how terrible the yard looks no matter how kept up in it you are, will push you to pay for the maintenance, and will steal your security deposit when you move. I had assistance for TWO days to get the house ready when I moved, still not enough. Also had people stop unannounced to look at the house the day I was moving out. I was charged an extra months rent, utilities, and landscaping, which was illegal since I was transferred on military orders. Currently considering my options to obtain the money owed to me. I'd give 0 stars if I could. DO NOT RENT FROM RENTAL CONNECTION.
