I have had a corporate rental at Nese Apartments since they opened with Milhaus and all was great until new management came. I have never had any issues with my unit until late when I developed a mouse problem. On October 28th, 2024 I notified the office about having a mouse and it effecting the guests that were staying. At that time, the maintenance person notified me that sealed everything up and were unable to place mouse traps because they didn't have and that it would take some time.
They were not able to remedy the issue and on Nov 22, there was evidence of a mouse still and I notified maintenance again. At that time, they said they would have pest control out on 11/27. No one followed up on what was done or if they even came. It's now 12/4 and there are still mouse droppings found in between cleanings. This apartment gets cleaned about 2-3 times per week. It is squeeky clean so that is how I know the mouse is still there because the droppings keep coming back.
At this point I have taken the matters into my own hands and I left a 1 start review on Nese google reviews because my experience has been that the "remedies" of the apartment complex has been incompetent to this point.
Following the next day of the review left of my personal experience, the office manager, Tiffanie Holifield called me to tell me that I was leaving fraudulent information and that the reason for the mouse was that the apartment is dirty and I have people opening the door often because it is a corporate rental which makes no sense. Again, the apartment is cleaned 2-3 times per week and this mouse is the same mouse. Instead of coming from a place of what do you need, how can I help...she blamed the tenant, threatened to cancel my lease, did not listen to what was actually needed, talked over & hung up on me at the end of the conversation. Unfortunately, Nese apartment complex lacks profession communication and the maintenance department is lacking in helping with unwanted pests.

10 out of 10 recommend staying as far away as possible.

Issue 1:
Our first week moving in the people that put the washer in didn’t tighten it all the way so it flooded the kitchen and part of the living room. Instead of splicing maybe 4 ft of carpet to prevent any mold or anything (at the time My fiance was pregnant and we had three weeks till baby Lilah was here), instead we (the maintenance man) just put a towel on it and a fan and then told me if it molds to replace it. Didn’t even offer to come back and look to make sure it wasn’t damaged when it was dry. Just simply for ME to replace it and that he wasn’t going to.

Issue 2: After a few weeks of staying here I realized that not only did ALL of our windows have and air leak causing my AC and heating bill to be higher than they should be. But also multiple of them would slowly leak water. I had talked to a few different residents here and legitimately all except for one said their windows leaked as well. That being said me and the resident that lived above me ended up asking one of our office ladies why that was that they all leaked. Her response… ā€œThey forgot to put in the flashing around the windows when they made these apartments.ā€ So because y'all/ your contractors screwed up we all have to pay for it?

Issue 3: Two kids went around ā€œding dong ditchingā€ however they were actually kicking the doors in. There is a police case that is ongoing. One of the office ladies, my upstairs neighbor, and I all ended up catching the kids and chasing them all the way down to the chic fil a till the cops got there. A whole situation in on itself. The apartment complex is pressing charges. My apartment and a hand full of others that got their doors kicked in had to fill out the amount of damages and all that happy go lucky stuff. So that being said, it’s not coming out of the apartments pocket, it’s not coming out of the maintenance man’s pocket. It has already been stated by both arresting officers and the office lady that gave us the paper that both parents kids are having to pay for it to be replaced/ fixed… So why is my door frame still broken after months? Yeah it atleast shuts now but I have complained to multiple office ladies, and the maintenance himself, that I have a now 9 month old daughter and a fiance that are here by there lonesome a decent amount. Alex and Krystin both have told me that they’d also talk to maintenance about it getting replaced. Still nothing. The same broken wood just longer screws. When that wood has snapped it has already lost that base integrity. It is not as strong as it should be.

Lastly, Issue 4: FOR A WEEK AND A HALF IT HAS BEEN SAID WE ARE GOING TI HE GETTING HEAVY SNOW! YOU GO ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE THEY HAVE SALT ON THE GROUND! so why does our apartment complex barely even get plowed? Like yes, it gets plowed. But I have plowed for years. Mays Snow Removal LLC. So why instead of cornering our piles we are just constantly going and side dumping it all to the butt end of every car? When a 4 wheel drive vehicle is struggling to get out and literally has to CLIMB over snow to get out… that’s a problem.

Actual one more because I’m beyond annoyed with that fact that I pay a little over 1700 a month and get treated like crap and I genuinely can’t find anyone other than SOME elderly people that haven’t said they don’t get treated poorly. And yes, this one is me just being nit picky. When we moved in the door stoppers went in. The little guide thing for the closet doors to keep them from swinging, wasn’t in. Some of the drawers and cabinet doors in both bathrooms and kitchen were all loose. And no, i’m not talking about the handle. they don’t have handles. It’s the full wood face plate piece. Two have fallen completely off so i went ahead and used would glue as like a caulk and just went around most of them helping them stay on.
Just a bunch of small stuff that shoulda been caught and fixed before a new tenant moves in.

BAM Management is company that makes it very clear that the DOLLAR comes first. As a resident of one of their properties, there office staff have made me feel dumb, questioned my concerns, and are generally unhelpful. The office staff has changed multiple times within 6 months so there is no consistency. Company is not willing to negotiate in good faith with residents over problems that arise. I would avoid renting at any property they manage and doing business with them all together. Their goal will be to get over on you.

I never had any issues with the previous management until now, it snow last Sunday no one came to plotted our complex driveway is a complete mess. I had to shovel my car to be able to parked, I went to the office and was told that it’s going to be taking care of and now we’re having another storm and there’s no one here to clean the parking lot. Its annoying and frustrating to pay your rent and people have to shovel they care out.

We live at Greenfield Crossing and we pay for view of the water. The grounds are poorly kept beyond belief. The photos will explain it all. Picture that is on website vs what it really looks like.

They showed up to the Pittsburgh market acting like big shots that could do wrong, and the wrong started before they even got to town. Mismanaged and short sighted are the themes of this company. They will get rid of amazing property managers and hire whoever the hell off the street that will do the job cheaper with loads less experience. Please do yourself a favor when you're looking for a rental and look elsewhere. We don't want this company in Pittsburgh but unfortunately I think we're stuck with them.

How do you get a hold of anyone in the company? I’ve called, emails several days and times and I have yet to be answered. It’s concerning when no one wants to respond . When I email I also get a cannot deliver. So they don’t seem to get the emails even if you use their site .

When I first moved here, it was a great feeling.. but now as the economy is serious inflation issues, management raises the price with less than a month to make a decision about your future with BAM management. After leaving 22 voicemails starting from 830 am until 3pm when I actually go a real person who is as more concerned with addressing my question on rent increase by sending me an email as I was speaking to her. I feel that my concerns were not heard or that she even cared. Management, if you want people to stay or come live on your property, you might want to honestly answer their questions, address constant issues going on, add features that the property list should all be in working and eye appealing to the consumer. I’ve never felt so strongly unheard today that I’m going to take some serious consideration before my deadline approaches to whether I can or even want to live here any longer.
