Carrington Mortgage Service has been the company that my husband and I have been using for many years. We are very pleased with this company. Over the past years we have received professional and consistent good customer service as well as support when needed. We were given the option of making automated payments which we have done for a long time. Because of this we have never had a late payment. This might seem like a small thing however, it simplified our lives as we were raising our children. I highly recommend Carrington Mortgage Service to anyone who has the option of choosing an innovative company that is both flexible and supportive of its customers.

You definitely need to work with this mortgage company if you’re looking for the following:

- The initial loan process to be way longer, more complicated & more drawn out than it needs to be.
- Information provided to you to be changed pretty much every time you speak with them!
- You’ll get a response maybe every two months - keep pushing and they might respond once a month! You won’t get any real answers though.
- Want to refinance? Good luck! Hope you have over 6 months in your tank to just sit around and wait! (We’re at 6 months & counting. It’ll probably just never happen)
- You want your monthly payment to go up even though you had a fixed rate? No warning or explanation for this, either!

If empty promises, lack of solutions, and horrible service are your thing, then please reach out to Carrington Mortgage Services! They will check all of these boxes and more.

Do yourself a favor and use literally any other company.

Carrington has serviced my mortgage for years. I just went through a loan assumption post-divorce. It was a process that took months, and throughout the entire time, my loan assumption coordinator, Chris was pleasant, professional, and speedy in replying to my myriad of questions and emails. What stood out most was his ability to maintain a level of empathy and understanding during what was a stressful and emotional process for me. Truly, it was one of the first times I've worked with someone who felt like a human and not just a robotic customer support rep. Chris consistently went above and beyond to ensure I was informed, reassured, and confident in each step of the process.

Probably the worse company in the world to have a mortgage with. I have had 3 different mortgage companies owning multiple houses and this is by far the WORST! Escalation department is 100% useless as well as insurance department as they gave false or incorrect information. All they said they could do was use the audio log for a training opportunity. I made 100% of my payments on time. Id never recommend this company to anyone. Always changing payments based of escrow analysis. Which is never accurate.

My mortgage was sold to Carrington a year or so ago and it's been terrible! My mortgage payment was constantly going up because of all the escrow analysis they were doing, which I never got notice of. I wouldn't notice things had changed till I went to pay my bill and it was over $800!! Also have trouble getting information to them. I've sent in name change paperwork and they have no record of it nor did they have record of the email I sent about my new insurance. Everyone I talk to tells me different things and apparently no one makes notes of calls or updates anything. Highly disappointed in the service and wish I could get away from them!

Please think before using this terrible company!
Sadly, our loan was acquired by Carrington. We have become the pawns between Carrington and the land acquisition specialist for the state/county. State/county wants a partial release of our land for a roundabout. This is an eminent domain issue. It was happening regardless of Carrington helping or not.
Note: We are not late or behind at all. Payments are always on time.
*Nolan (00635) is a senior escalation specialist at Carrington. He got the problem fixed within 10 days. He is great!
The rest of the customer care and escalation team couldn't/wouldn't do anything from February to July.
* We refinanced to get away from Carrington Mortgage.

I recommend not using carrington or a company that will sell your loan to carrington post purchase. Difficult to communicate with. Late on payoff requests. Use a local bank if you’re able!

They have had 3 months and 6 phone calls to correct a problem and nobody can seem to get it corrected. It has affected my credit score and credit cards and my life!!!! I will NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE
