Whether you are a property owner or a renter, stay far away from this company. This was my experience after renting from them for 2.5 years.

I moved into one of their properties in May 2022 and discovered a rat infestation in my kitchen just two months later. Over the next two years, this company repeatedly ignored maintenance requests, dismissed the recommendations of their own pest control provider, and failed to address a serious health hazard.

In May 2023, I escalated the issue to the county’s Mosquito and Vector Control Department, which performed a free inspection and provided the company with a detailed report outlining necessary structural repairs. They ignored it. In August 2023, I had to involve the county’s Environmental Health Department, which had to threaten fines before the company finally completed the repairs—more than a year after the problem began.

By November 2024, the issue resurfaced when a crawl space vent deteriorated. Thirty days passed with no action to repair the rodent entry points, and the problem worsened as rodents died inside inaccessible areas of the kitchen. The resulting health hazard forced us to stay in a hotel. The company refused to cover the costs of alternative housing or reimburse us for damaged belongings, leaving us no choice but to pursue legal action.

This company has demonstrated a disturbing pattern of negligence, incompetence and an utter disregard for the health and safety of its tenants. If you are considering renting from them, be aware that even the most serious habitability issues may be ignored for months or years—until legal or governmental intervention forces their hand. If you are a property owner, be aware that this company is unwilling to take care of your property and you will risk being sued by the tenants. I strongly advise looking elsewhere.

C&C team for over six years as a tenant in a property they managed. Highly professional and responsive team that worked to ensure that we were fully satisfied and comfortable in our condo. Having only dealt directly with landlords prior, C&C was a refreshing change and we would not hesitate to use them again!

C&C Property management is a terrible company.
If I could give negative 5 stars I would.

We have tried to visit two properties that they listed on Zillow.

First property: we showed up to our appointment on time after confirming with them twice: 4 days before then again 1 day before by talking on the phone to their agent and giving them our credit card details so they could charge us an application fee. When we arrived for our appointment they told us it was no longer available and another agent should have told us. They didn't apologize and took no responsibility for their team or for wasting our time or taking our money for an application on a property they already knew was unavailable.

Second property: Then today we had confirmed twice in advance that we would be at our appointment to view a separate property. We turned up on time, and the owner was there in the middle of moving out! Boxes everywhere with a removal company in mid job. C&C had not even communicated at all with the owner that we had an appointment to view the property, and had booked us in to view the place during the owner's move out day.

Again, a total waste of our weekend. Unprofessional is an understatement. They DO NOT take care of their owners or new clients.
Stay away from this awful sh*tshow of a company!

I sincerely doubt all of their 5 star reviews are real. Don't be fooled by these pirates. Highly dubious company. Do not trust them with your home, money or time.

I had a great experience with this property management organization. They were helpful, responsive and generally easy to work with. The coordinator for the property I was looking at, Alejandro, was extremely helpful and clearly cared about doing the best possible job for her applicants.

I found Soraya great and easy to work with. She was quick with my inquiries and requests and the automatic rent payments they setup made renting really easy. Highly recommend Buttonwood for all tenants and landlords.

Finding a place (especially in the santa cruz area!) can be really difficult. Alysa at C&C was so helpful. I've dealt with a lot of property management companies and I can say C&C is the nicest!
