I just started renting from Empire Management because I was approved for my section 8. 1st it took forever for Section 8 to even approve the house I moved into because it wasn’t up to their standards. 2nd when it was approved, it still wasn’t up to standards. I signed the Lease for this house on February 2nd 2023. I moved into the house February 6th. Upon moving in I noticed I didn’t have any hot water. So I had to call Empire to have Corey their maintenance man come and fix it. Turns out the house needed a new water heater. Upon Corey coming to fix the water heater he noticed that the hosing for the heat vents wasn’t right & my son an I could’ve died from carbon monoxide poisoning had I never called them about not having hot water. THEN, my kitchen sink, I know Coery was tired of having to come out here to fix it. So Empire Had Rotor Rooter come out & the Rotor Rooter Guy said the plumbing in my basement is the worst he has seen an he knows he will be back. That’s not even the worst of it. Mind you I haven’t even lived in this house for a month at this point … my bath tub is leaking from the ceiling above my stove. An you can tell where they tried to patch it ,but they did a terrible job. NOW, I noticed a roach. As if this house doesn’t have enough issues as it is. Throw in some pesky friends that I KNOW they knew about because the lady I signed my lease with said something about having them come out to spray ,but I was too confident because I KNEW I wasn’t moving in with any bugs. I CALL THEM TO ASK THEM WHAT IM SUPPOSED TO DO BECAUSE THEY OBVIOUSLY KNEW ABOUT IT BEFORE I MOVED IN … an because it’s past my “30 days” & I didn’t see them before now it’s my problem. Let’s not get me started on how you can tell them about a problem an call to check up on it an somehow they have that the work order was completed when nobody even came to complete anything. It’s frustrating being a single mother trying to do better for yourself and your kids and you get a slum lord. This house was supposed to bring me peace & tranquility … it hasn’t been anything for me ,but a nightmare. Make me wish I never had a house. If you have section 8 please find somebody else to rent from cause they are not it. Yes, they do give you a “check off” list, to list off things that are wrong ,but you have 2 weeks to turn it in. As a single mom with two kids and no car that was hard for me to do & now I’m truly paying for it. It’s honestly ridiculous. My family can’t even believe it for real.

Housing is not the greatest. It is an older house. There is huge gaps between the base boards. You can look down the gaps and see the basement. The basement has all kinds of cracks and wholes that little critters can get into from the outdoors. In the kitchen behind the cabinets near the floor there is a one foot whole that has no wall nor is it sealed. It was like someone put a cabinet there to cover it up. A Few weeks ago I started getting water in through the roof of one of the bedrooms. I left a voicemail and got no response that week. I then left a few messages on tenant cloud and yet I have not gotten a response there either. I will update this review once the problem with the leak is addressed.

*Updated last week of August a contractor came in and had a look. I was able to express my concerns he placed a bid in for fixing the roof/ceiling from my understanding. Most of the decisions will have to wait for the actual landlords approval before Empire can proceed.

They pretty much discriminated against me being a single African American woman & mother coming from low income. I applied for a home that they kept saying was a quarter million dollar home. A home I qualified for and was well qualified for. I don’t have a background, they verified my income and work. They even did a walkthrough of my current resident. They said I was denied because I came from housing trying to stay in a quarter million dollar house so I don’t qualify. Am I missing something. I gave them check stubs, they verified with my boss. I gave them a w2. After I confronted them they said produce them a 1040 and they’ll reconsider. I’m just applaud at how I was treated as a minority at this establishment. The worst part is they tried to offer me another home for the same price and tried to sell me on the school being better but the house is nothing like the quarter million dollar house I want to live in.

Rented a property for almost 2 years. Maintenance would not come make repairs, even with repair orders placed up to 7 months prior. Walls were caving in along with ceiling caving in at first with bad repair job. Home inspector came and said how poor shape it was, walls separating at the base boards, railings coming off the wall, outside grab rail wasnt installed correctly and wasn’t even mounted to the house. Living room wall wasn’t even connected to the floor. Could stick stuff through to the other side. Landlord would not respond to tenantcloud messages but was surely quick to respond when I asked to end my lease. Horrible house and horrible management company.

Up and coming property management company driven by putting clients and residents first and great core values. Impressed by professionalism during my contacts and highly considering moving over a few of my properties to manage.
