Over the years whoever is running the credit union is continually making it less and less member friendly. What ever their agenda and goals are, it's not for the members. Closing branches, not staffing up other branches to cover the influx, not having a streamline process to manage the members in the branch. They're attempting to exploit everything after COVID. Trying to make it as frustrating as possible for the members to drive into never coming into the branches. They attempt to make the procedures and layouts more modern, but in doing so, miss the point and make it much worse. The branch employees are great and it's not their fault. I especially feel bad for them as the credit union phases them out.

If your loved one had set up a credit union here and dies, it may take you 6 months to 1 full year to close the account and receive payment. They schedule phone meetings, don't call as you wait all day, then screw up numerous times before you can actually speak with a representative. Then they ask for you to send them everything under the sun, lose it, say they never received it, you name it - every excuse to hold onto YOUR money. NEVER do business with this wanna be credit union. We received the life insurance way before this and still dealing with their excuse after excuse of not returning your loved ones money. GO ELSEWHERE!!!

I have been using this credit union for almost 3 years in addition to my Wells Fargo checking which I have had for 23 years. I love the First Entertainment checking account because when I deposit my paycheck on the app, the entire check is instantly available but Wells Fargo only gives me $400 until the next business day. I recently applied for a car loan with them and the experience was great. Before I completed the application online, I called and got help filling out the application properly. My auto loan was approved the same day. And, they also gave me good advice for going to the dealer with my approval letter because the dealerships love to try and run your credit again. They also offered me a credit card AND a line of credit using just the one single inquiry on my Experian credit report. Very pleased with the outcome and my beautiful new Cadillac.

This bank has gone incredibly down hill. They used to seriously take care of my business but, they have changed remarkably. They could care less now and its truly disturbing. I no longer recommend them. I have been with them for decades too.

For a credit union they can be SO corporate! SO many restrictive policies (but then they lack the resources to make up for it with amenities that the big banks don't have.) Don't expect their ATM debit card to work very well out of town, either. It strands me at out-of-state gas pumps, trying to book lodging in Mexico (even with travel settings enabled.) You will still have to have a regular bank account, so when one tells you 'no', the other one will let you use your own money (this one won't even answer the phone after business hours to respond to a card issuer block- ripe for a California State's Attorney General investigation.)

We took our first home mortgage loan from FECU and had a top notch client experience.

Edward Chou and Jenny Pineda had been an excellent partner throughout the process. Starting from Day 1, Edward provided ample time and thorough guidance in each and every step. He is extremely knowledgeable about various mortgage loan products and understands the client needs to recommend the best suited product. He showed excellent communication skills and always approachable for any questions either from us or by our agents.

Generally, credit unions are known for taking longer time for loan processing but with First Entertainment and working with Edward and Jenny, we were able to close the escrow within 30 days (considering we had Christmas and New Year holidays). As a first time home buyer, we were grateful and to be honest, a bit relaxed with Edward being our loan officer and Jenny as a loan processor.

Thank you for the seamless process.

Horrible service. It was far better with tellers at their windows. Now its "book an appointment" and you call in to book and the call center says you dont need one, just go in. Go in and there maître d' is rude, demanding whats you business and "you can use the atm for that" (no, i can't, its an in person transaction only).
Then condescending and telling you that you can try another branch (next nearest is an hour away).
Just admit you screwed up and return to tellers at the windows...... and have more than TWO of ther SLOWEST people I've seen working. If i worked that slowly, id be fired.

Eta.
They say they're there to help, and know how or schedules work to "work with us".
Nothing is further from there truth.
It's now all make an appointment, then you get there and its either they have no record of the appointment (even though you show them the text confirmation) or you're waiting 45 minutes anyway.
Employees are condescending, rude, have no concept of the real world.
There are other places to bank.
Shareholders are treated like dirt,

It's sad that this credit union only responds to their good reviews while ignoring any negative reviews which shows they don't care and they have no intention of making things right or doing damage control. I have had way too many issues with First Entertainment over the past few years such as extremely long hold times on the phone with repetitive irritating messages playing over & over & over in a condescending tone (they act like everyone is stupid) instead of actual music like other banks do.They offer a "we will-call-you-back-by-the-end-of-the-day" option but they NEVER bother to call back. My wife and I will be closing our accounts as soon as we both get a day off work. By the way, the other negative reviews are true as I too have had many of the same problems with F.E.C.U. myself. It's too bad they have way too many poorly trained employees who only want a pay check and don't give a &%$@# about the customers.
