So back in July, my father in law died. It was a panic. We had to make an emergency trip to Mexico where he’s from.
These guys even though I called and was told they could do nothing because I was already negative due to auto pay. They still charged me over 1000$ in overdraft fees and said “we’re sorry for your loss but we are doing nothing for you. Because you knew about our policy.”Found out later they will do stop pays but for 33$ fee. Not a good bank. Terrible customer service, managers make the calls but don’t actually do the calling. Will be transferring banks before some big transfers are made here this coming year. This quite literally almost RUINED our lives, we are still playing catch up. We were grieving. Then we had to climb back up a mountain just to make ends meet even though you could have just put stop pays on everything.
My heart and bank account still aches over this months later, thought I’d share so you don’t EVER have to deal with this bank.
Edit: said manager called had some sympathetic words but then sent me a letter saying all their charges were justified. Lesson: get another bank that doesn’t have fees. Most online banks are offering this now.

Had an issue with a transaction whose delay would mess up days of planning, but the teller Ula and Elsie came through for the customer and sorted it in a way the that got me out the door. Ty ty.

The staff aren't very friendly and act like you are committing a crime or fraud. But at least they have 3-4 tellers and are fast. I only still choose to bank with them because they are kinda old fashioned..like me. I do wish their customer service was better and they put their customers first...the old fashioned way.

I have financed property through First National Bank twice before and have always transferred to another institution for one reason or another.
I just purchased new property and have been waiting over a month for my payment information which I received today ( 9/4/2021 )
First payment was due 9/1/2021 , so now my first payment is going to be late and because
9/6/21 is a holiday , my first payment can’t be made until 9/7/21. I now remember why I chose to leave First National Bank the last 2 times.

I haven’t been banking here in a long time but I got a check and needed to use first national bank to cash it. It’s usually pretty empty so you get fast service the workers are so friendly so helpful and knowledgeable. They offer alot of different kinds of loans at good rates. Worth checking out.

I'm from wasilla and with the bank changing there hours out in the valley it forced me to have to drive all the way into Anchorage off Muldoon wasn't to happy I had to do this wasilla bank need to stop charging there hours

The employees here are much better then 1 yr ago. Most of them have great Customer service skills. They know your name & care about there customers.
