Been using the greyhound shipping part for years with ok luck. Lots of parking. South Shore train to Chicago and think as far as South Bend In ( else at least to Mich City) can be picked up from here. Greyhound terminal hours are weekdays only if you need counter service. Place is normally pretty clean. Place is not in the nicest of area's so keep your eyes open for people and keep to yourself.

Can save time and money by buying tickets online for service and packages with Grey Hound Fyi. Right in down town Gary. Rail Cats Stadium is minutes away. Rt 20 runs threw and take you all the way to Michigan City and by Hammond.

Greyhound seems to be to be one of the easist to ship semi larger parts. I have shipped and gotten car doors and fenders to name a few. Not the quickest though.

Some people can be found begging ( not often) and last year had a total stranger come up to me inline at Greyhound and try to start a fight in front of staff for no reason. Security sent him packing. I just stayed out of it. Some times security is thier most of the time not nor even seen Gary PD drive through .

This was 7 yrs ago. I had to get to cinti oh for my daughter's graduation. I was traveling with my husband for work at rhe time. I booked travel with greyhound out of gary Indiana. It was like 1:30 a.m. I was scared and alone in bus terminal. I noticed bus outside. I was few minutes late I had to knock on bus doors. Driver told me he was going to leave me since I was late. I was in bus terminal and didn't see the bus pull in. I was scared and alone. He asked me why he should let me on bus before allowing g me to board. I had no idea at the time how dangerous gary, Indiana was. It was my first time there and at 1:30 am.m. the driver knew how dangerous it would be to leave me but he didn't care. Last time taking greyhound bus.

I can't say enough about this station. I parked my car for $1 a day for 5 days and returned after midnight to have two very polite and great security guards confirm I was there for good reason. They kept an eye to make sure my vehicle was safe as well as my self. Wonderful

My first time riding the greyhound was better than I thought. People were kind and the bus was clean… Gary to Nap… the trip back from Nap was terrible. The bus driver was sick. An older man. Blood pressure 200+ And he couldn’t drive us. Had to be transported. So we sat around for 3+ hours waiting for a driver to get dropped to us to end up taking us back to Nap instead of our destination. So we’re back at the greyhound station in Indianapolis just waiting… everything went wrong. It was like 2 at the time. Been trying to get home since 7:05am… ride from Gary to Indianapolis was cool but trying to get back was terrible. Not because the man was sick. He did what was right and pulled over for his and our safety but being left there clueless for a while was a bit much and then driving us in circles was a bit much also

People who are not waiting on a Bus at the Gary Metro Station, shouldn't be taking up seats in the lobby. That's called "Loitering" Watch out for "Large Rats" in the back parking lot. They are not afraid of yoù! 😮
