Ashley Mendoza is my dental hygienist, and she’s absolutely wonderful! She’s warm, welcoming, and has a way of making you feel comfortable about going to the dentist. She takes her time to explain everything and makes sure you feel at ease during your visit. Honestly, she’s one of the reasons I don’t dread dental appointments anymore!

I am writing a review based on my experience and I cannot take away other people's positive experiences at this dental office. For one, I was a new patient coming from a different dental office. I scheduled myself to meet with a periodontal specialist on February 1st at 12:30pm. I then received a text message a day prior stating that my appointment was scheduled at 8:30am. I called the dental office asking if this was a mistake and I was told that it was actually scheduled earlier because the periodontal specialist was only working a half day. I agreed and decided to go anyway. As a side note, I had to rearrange my work schedule to accommodate this day and time. I arrive to the office at 8:15am, there was a woman sitting in the lobby as I entered to check in. Minutes later, a gentleman thay works there calls the woman sitting in the lobby and tells her that the periodontal specialist wasn't going to make it because of an emergency. I was immediately struck by the news and knew that I was going to be told the same thing after her. Sure enough, my name was called and I was told the same exact thing! I couldn't believe it! It left a horrible first impression as I am a new patient.

To be fair, I understand that patients cancel their appointments on the day of their appointment but someone always benefits on a canceled appointment and can be seen immediately as they might be waiting in the lobby. Not in this case, this periodontal specialist had several patients arriving and had to cancel other appointments for the day. If this emergency was true, truly wish the best for that periodontal specialist but this office needs to get it together if they expect to have GREAT reviews. In my experience, it's not! Also, be aware that this periodontal specialist is only there once a month and she couldn't make it to her ONE day at this office. It's quite embarrassing! Do better for your community Highland Dental Group!

So we had an appointment for Ortho consult earlier this month but it was canceled because of the fires. Frustrating but understandable. We were scheduled for the consultation again for today and I called in because I realized I never received a reminder. They tell me that I canceled the appointment 3 days ago when I know I didn't. I had filled out the necessary forms already and now they have my personal information and I got nothing but having to move my schedule around twice and getting flaked on.

The staff is very friendly and they find lots of ways to keep you connected with help from the front desk. Appointments are also easy to get set up and they have lots of availability.
The dental technicians and the orthodontist themselves are very good at what they do.

I’m soooo HAPPY with this place…..
I live in East L.A and I have to drive 1hr every time I have an appointment but I don’t mind cuz they make me feel really good is definitely worth the drive. Dr chokka is incredibly he explained my procedures step by step and make sure I was comfortable with everything. Front office staff amazing! Always with a nice attitude, making sure you’re ok or if you have any question.
