WE THE RESIDENTS KNOW YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT US! YOU CAN TELL BY ALL THE MULTI-YEAR RESIDENTS THAT ARE COMPLAINING!
I live at Encantada canyon trails in Goodyear. This property has to be the worst managed property that I have ever lived at. After 4 years all the management care about is raising the rent and doing absolutely nothing for the tenants. The windows are all old, so they let the heat and cold in. You can see that by all the falling cross bars in the windows. The appliances are from 2010 and don't work correctly. And maintenance is a joke. You put in a request and the may get to it in a week, if you are lucky. I had a broken stove for 5 days because they tried to repair the stove over and over instead of just replacing it. Then when they replaced it the brought an even older stove to replace the 15 year old appliance. The new office manager just sit in the office playing on the computer all day. They are friendly untill you move in then all you are is rent money. The grounds are not kept up and smell like urine. Avoid this place at all costs. You are better off renting from someone else.

I live at Canyon Oaks an I have been here 5 years. When I first moved here I thought it was great, well 5 years an 5 Managers later, not so much. The people in office now have no idea what they are doing. When I moved in you could decorate your patio. Now I pay for my patio it is included in the price of the apartment. I should be able to hang wind chimes and Hummingbirds feeder. I did for 4 years an then all of a sudden last year it was forbidden. There are roach problems an in some buildings it is so bad people move out all the time. They need to spray every apartment in every build to get it under control. They won't do that though because it is too expensive. So my advice to anyone who is looking for an apartment is to come here in the evening an just talk to the tenets. Read all the comments an check the dates. It may look pretty on the outside but everything that glitters isn't gold.

Ok so in their response they tell me to call them. Why! You will never call me back, because you never call anyone back!

Update: another 3 months later and still no response. I was told I would be getting a call back from corporate on October 1st....it is now March 10th. HSL makes it clear that they do not value or care about their customers.

Update: This company does not care about their customers!!! It has been 10 weeks and the company has still not resolved the issue. Even worse, I still haven't heard back. Their response to my original review was to contact the company directly which is what I've been attempting to do for the past 10 weeks (starting on 9/6 and it is currently 11/14). I was told I would "receive a call tomorrow" on 9/30 which still hasn't happened. This company is repeatedly saying one thing and doing something else. It is disappointing that this is the way they treat their long time, loyal customers who have given years of business to them.

Awful. This company repeatedly gaslights customers and employs regional managers who are not held accountable.Their website states, "At HSL, we strive to consistently provide exceptional customer service and outstanding apartment homes," which could not be farther from the truth.
The regional manager who oversees my complex has lied to me numerous times over the last six months. He called me on 9/4 to tell me that I would receive a customer service credit in my account for the way a year long situation was immensely mishandled. Two days later, he called me again and changed the amount to 25% of what he previously told me. When I expressed frustration and confusion, he was extremely unprofessional and said things like "Do you want this or not?" and "I don't even have to give you that." He even raised his voice at me on the phone and when I acknowledged it, he said he would end the phone call so that I could not "accuse" him of raising his voice. When I asked to speak with his supervisor he confidently told me that I would not be speaking to his supervisor and if tried to contact his supervisor that he would be contacting me again. I was shaking when I called corporate but was hopeful that this individual's actions were not reflective of the company as a whole. I have called daily have left several voicemails and still have not heard back from any of the VPs that I have requested to speak to. After telling the regional manager and corporate, that I do not want the regional manager contacting me again, they had him send me a very misleading and manipulative email. I sent my response of the email to my CD and corporate and have still not heard back. Three weeks later and I still haven't spoken with his supervisor which is causing me to believe that his unprofessionalism and lies are in fact reflective of HSL as a whole.

DO NOT rent from an HSL Property!! After 4 years I can tell you many things but let’s start with the big ones.
HSL corporate will NOT return calls or emails!! They could care less about you.
Your rent will be raised $100-$200 and there is no negotiation. They do not care to keep you!
Only some tenants have to follow the rules while others don’t.
They make too many exceptions for tenants and tell the other ones to just deal with it.

Please go elsewhere!!

I am a 75 year old woman with disabilities. I've lived at Arboretum Apartments in Tucson for 11 years and paid over $100K in rent. Saturday I found an eviction notice on the ground. No one knocked and the dog nextdoor didn't bark. It was too late to call a lawyer but I plan to file a countersuit on Monday. This started after I called maintenance for repair or replacement of a 9 year old refrigerator. It's cheaper for you to kick me out and raise the rent. I have back pain, a heart murmur and agoraphobia. I may not be Suzy Homemaker but I have rights and plan on exercising them. No one from your office returned my calls.

I would like to give a shout out to Olga at Skyline Gateway! I'm searching for an apartment and made an appointment with her. She really listened to what I am searching for without judgement! She called me right away when a 2 bedroom became available and this is excellent Customer Service, which seems to be lacking in our world today. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the application process online was extremely challenging. Thank you Olga!!!

The Springs Apartments claims to have laundry but the machines are always broken, and the machine used to put money on the laundry specific cards they use doesn't even work. They just keep sending me to an apartment complex 3 miles away.

This is really extreme. I have to completely tear apart my apartmemt ive been in for less than week, buy plastic to cover everything and leave for hours with no where to go. No one told me this place was infested with roaches. Now my life is be disrupted and strange men are going through all of my stuff and my stuff is being ridden with chemicals and I'm being displaced on.a day that I have class because of this. I just moved in. I'm so upset. I really wish I would have been informed of all of this before I moved in. I just moved everything in and unpacked my.stuff and now I have to figure out what to do with my stuff, my pet with no car and I have no sheets and I have class that day. I'm literally about to cry from stress. Why didn't anyone inform me prior to moving in? Where am I supposed to go?
