Bad customer service and horrible communication. Mtn Insurance gives new meaning to the term unprofessional.

If you’ve ever seen the Seinfeld episode with the Soup Nazi, you’ll have an idea of what level of customer service to expect. Maria very well may be a capable agent, but be prepared for horrible communication and extreme moodiness. If they feel like responding they will, if they don’t then no soup for you.

While I was working with them on a very urgent matter, they would take days to reply to an email or return a phone call. Another time they closed for 2 consecutive non-holiday business days with no explanation, no email replies, no outgoing message explaining the closure, and a full voicemail box. When I very politely asked about this, she said it’s none of my business and rudely scolded me for having the nerve to ask.

It’s not her fault if insurance companies are slow to respond. But rather than just tell us this, they choose to be non-responsive, refuse to give simple updates, and blame the customer for simply requesting proper communication. If you’re looking for an insurance agent who will leave you hanging when you need them most, this agency is for you.

I have reached out to MTN insurance several times, being a Twin Peaks part-time resident, every time I’ve contacted this office they’ve been nothing but professional and will take time to answer questions. Also listen to your particular life circumstances, and understand your needs, I appreciate everyone I’ve always had good interactions

After spending most of my working career in some aspect of customer service, I'm amazed at the service these guys provide. A++++. They actually followed up (after emailing) customers to ensure (we) thier customers saw said email regarding changes so that NO ONE would be dropped by any carrier.
Now I dont know about you, but the big companies sure aren't going that extra mile for customers. This is the type of personal service you only get from a local small business.
I had to shake my head at the 1 star people and the comments. I can only wish them good luck bargaining in California to obtain home owners insurance. They obviously aren't aware of how challenging it is.
Mountain insurance and the staff are great. You're lucky if you are a client.
They are 100% going to make sure they've got you.

We love them and cannot express how awesome they've been. Nine years on now. I refer every person that asks to them.

Bad customer service. They want to demand how you spend your money and they don't like it when you stand up and tell them it is your money and your property and they work for you, so they need to meet your needs. Avoid at all cost, they are manipulating and rude on your money, while being demeaning. Find another broker, you are better off giving your business to somebody who values capitalism, customer service and respects the customer's wishes without being pushy and socialistic.

I moved up to crestline in April and had to get home insurance , the company we went with (I’ll avoid the name :p ) seemed good at first .. we really just needed to go with the flow to be able to close escrow . Then we noticed issue after issue with our policy . Problems as small as not getting the age of our new roof correct and assuming it was still 60+ years old and messing up on the street address name on our policy documents . Then big issues like not doing a home inspection in the build up to see the plumbing but still coming to the conclusion that we would have to pay a $10000 deductible if there’s ever any water damage . This policy didn’t seem to help us in the long run if there’s any issues with the house in the near future , we would have to come out of pocket and deal with the headache of confirming basic policy info is correct and valid .

Me and my husband walked into Maria’s office and right away she was on top of everything . She even searched in county records to get the accurate date of the roof being redone 2+ years ago . They really go above and beyond at MTN ! Unlike the first home Insurance company we went with !

I was a loyal customer of MTN insurance for at least 4 years. But apparently, they canceled my policy back in March 2023 and did not notify me. My policy was transferred to a company I have never heard of, and the new company never contacted me.
