I interviewed 4 property management companies in the Lafayette, Indiana area to manage rental of a large and very nice single family home I was having trouble selling. Wendy at PMI was by far the most responsive and thorough of all the companies. She is also very knowledgeable of the entire area and the market. I decided to use PMI. I called to talk to Wendy again to get things moving. Wendy was kind enough to spend time talking with me more about my specific situation. After listening, she actually helped me decide not to rent my property. In fact she said if she was me, she wouldn't rent it. What she did is the definition of Integrity. I highly recommend PMI and Wendy.

This place takes people’s money for application fees and turns everyone down; just collecting that app fee. I know several people who have applied for homes through this company and have good credit, perfect rental history, and no criminal record, yet don’t qualify for a rental home after being told they were very qualified by the agent. I am reporting them to the BBB. Don’t give them your application fee money, because it will be pointless; you won’t qualify and you are out that money. They are just ripping people off.

They sent me to a debt collector for damage that was done to a property I didn’t even rent from them, nor was I responsible for the damages done to the property! The debt collector they hired is well known for fraudulent attempts to collect and they were rude with an attempt of intimidation and not forthcoming regarding the information they had. I actually have written documentation from the previous occupants of the home where the garage door was broken PRIOR to them moving in 5 years before I lived there.

Not to mention they left me without running water for well over a week and a water softener that was broken for almost an entire year doing damage to all of the clothing and bedding I owned.

I was also told by the maintenance that they don’t fix things because they can’t keep employees due to their shotty business practices..

You get what you give!

Have been working with Wendy and Casey on an apartment I just recently paid a deposit for. Both people are polite, and are definitely knowledgeable in the business of leasing units. I can't wait to have PMI Lafayette as a landlord starting in April! I definitely recommend this leasing company when needing to find a good landlord with nice places to move into!

I have not leased from PMI, but I contacted them when I was desperately looking for an apartment in Lafayette. Units were getting scooped up in a matter of days, sometimes even hours. I worked with Wendy, who went out of her way to take a video of one of their recently posted apartments. Her customer service was incredible, and it was clear that she knew the property, knew the company, and knew the area. Her service was leagues above that I received from agents with other rental management companies in the area. I was also impressed with what I saw of the apartment, which was older (in a charming way!) but seemed very well-kept.

While I chose to go with another company, I will absolutely keep PMI on my radar for future moves. Many thanks to Wendy for being such a champ!

Terrible management company. They evicted my 80 year old grandmother who had faithfully paid on time and up kept the property for 15 years! (She was having the onset of dementia) I had offered to set her up on auto pay and pay the back rent of 1 month with intrest and the property manager was terrible and refused to let me help. They then proceeded to have ALL of her processions thrown out and refused the let myself or family help the 80 year old women move her items. Just know if you rent from them they are a heartless company.

- I was specifically told by WENDY she cannot release any specific information to the family and would only speak with the tenant directly(who was clearly in a bad mental state) I had no direct access to her banking but could fill out an auto draft form if one was provided and it was not we offered to pay the back rent but the property manager refused to lift the eviction. The family was told they were not allowed on the property! They were specifically told by WENDY a 3rd party lisenced company would need to be hired to retrieve her things over 4th of July weekend
Absolutely reporting to section 4 elderly abuse.
On a public form she can report that 3 months were behind but would not tell me any specific number of what was owed over the phone.

This company wanted her out so they could remodel and jack the rent up.
