Update: now my homeowners insurance went up by $1200/year with zero notification.

Response to Shurr:
Could have been resolved by reading my mail I read every single piece of mail I receive unless it is from a company I don't do business with - I throw away communications from Progressive about once a month...do you know why? Because they, LIKE NAT GEN, aren't my insurance carrier. Furthermore....you ZERO PERCENT contacted me regarding my premium increase, so that is a blatant lie. I found out via a surprise $60 increase the next month. "This has been industry standard for decades". If you are still conducting business they you did decades ago, that says more about your company than it does about higher consumer standards. You took no responsibility other than your apology at the end of your response. What are you sorry for? According to you, you did nothing wrong!

I had been with Shurr since I purchased my house in 2021. At some point, the monthly cost had gone up about $15, with no notice. Whatever, not that big of a deal. Recently, I was having issues logging into my insurance company portal, so I called Shurr for assistance. Only now that I'm calling with a login issue does Lisa decide to let me know Encompass was bought out by Nat Gen and my policy is switching over to them and that Nat Gen had been sending notices. I would not have opened anything like that since I get marketing materials from insurance companies every week. Unhappy with this lack of communication from my broker, but again, whatever. Now, I see that my monthly payment went up $50! Again, this is with ZERO communication from Shurr. I call today and Lisa says, "Oh yea, I re-ran your coverage and Nat Gen was still coming up as the lowest." Ok, but you didn't think I would want to know about the $50 increase? There doesn't seem to be any remorse from her over the fact that they didn't find it necessary to personally reach out to their clients for something like this. This would be one of the main reasons for going through a broker. Unreal.

Shurr insurance agency was recommended by a friend. I'm so glad they did because the entire experience was amazing. Jon is very knowledgeable, friendly & attentive. I moved the homeowners and auto insurance to their company and saved money and the coverage is better than the former company.
I didn't think I could get better coverage for less money. It was worth looking into.
