At this point I do not want to be a vendor for Sylvan any longer. I'm a fully licensed general contractor and I don't get paid fairly, or even close to industry standards for that matter. You guys send out these so called contractors who accomplish nothing, then I'm called to take care of what they didn't do and I still have to fight to be paid. I was sent out to an emergency call on a Saturday, where I drove over an 1 1/2 hrs to clean up your tenant's feces and piss. Then had to drive an 1 1/2 hrs home covered in said bodily waste. I subsequently had to wait to get paid 3, maybe 4, months after spending HOURS fighting with accounts payable. I left my family to take care of the unthinkable and then had to explain to them why our utility payments are late. I'm sick of my time being wasted. Both my time and expertise are valuable and I deserve to be treated as a valued vendor. I show up, I am honest, I work dilengetly and always have gone above and beyond.

Imagine if the roles were reversed; you show up, do your job beyond expectations, make sure that you are approved for your trip charge/job, and then you to spend hours out of your week, sometimes for over 2 months, fighting to be paid while your bills pile up and you struggle to feed your family.

When I was first onboarded, I was working nonstop for you guys and always felt valued. About a year later, I began having problems getting paid while I was putting out personal money to purchase materials. Most times it would take months for payouts. This year I decided not to renew my insurance information with Sylvan because everything had become such a headache but a representative called me and convinced me Sylvan's practices had changed; which is CLEARLY not the case. The same thing is happening all over again.

Sylvan has a pattern of begging me to stay, then quickly ghosts me by not sending work out to me (I used to so busy with you guys that I had no time for outside work), and/or not responding to completed work orders with prompt payment.

I now have to fight for a measly $125 for driving a 1 1/2 hrs one way to see if your tenant still lives there. I charge $150 just to go look at a job that I am called out to outside of Slyvan. I'm a 1 man band, I have no employees. It's not even worth my time to go do your stuff. I have been told by multiple Sylvan representatives that these other vendors are ripping you off, to which I can atest to from what I've seen being sent out to jobs you have already sent someone out to handle but I am not that guy and Sylvan continues to treat me as though I'm worthless.

Take me out of your system.

I don't have time for this and I am absolutely worth more then being tossed breadcrumbs, only to hold my breath to see if and when I'll actually be paid. I will be following up with Corporate and the BBB in reference to Sylvan's unethical businesss practices.

As a listing agent this company is by far the WORST I have ever worked with. They will stall the deal causing your seller to miss out on other offers. They will find anything and everything to use as a reason. The level of unprofessionalism is off the charts. You will never get to a live person no matter how hard you try. You will be communicating over email only and oddly only late at night. The agent they use to write the contract will be impossible to get on the phone. I actually had him once on the phone and he told me to try harder next time to find him and hung up on me. I have never encountered anything like this.

DO NOT ACCEPT AN OFFER ON YOUR HOUSE FROM THIS COMPANY. If this company’s name is on an offer for your house I would strongly suggest going with a different buyer. I’m in the real estate business and have dealt with investment companies large and small and these guys have very poor, and unethical buyer practices. They wrote an offer on our home, over ask, we accepted, they kept asking for extensions on inspections, which we agreed to, then sent us a concession request for items that were not even in need of repair or listed on the inspection report, we ended up accepting their concession, they asked for another extension, then after we’d granted it they immediately terminated the contract. They asked for an extension because they were pass due diligence window, and would be forced to honor the contract, we granted their extension in good faith, and they only used it to terminate. More than likely because they didn’t have the capital to close the deal. That’s usually why. Their reason for terminating was because “scope of work exceeds investors threshold”, mind you the house is immaculate, nothing they wanted in concession was on inspection report, and we granted the concession! And it still didn’t meet their threshold. Bad business. We will be reporting them to the Ohio Attorney Generals office. I would strongly encourage anyone to pass on this company as a buyer.

The most despicable business I've ever had to work with. The killer of the American Dream. I filed a complaint with the Ohio AG on them. They have requested nothing but extension after extension. We then get the inspection which they requested an extension on the report which we obliged. They even requested a close date change for finances which we were ok with to sell still. Then less than 2 weeks before close they cancel contract. They said their numbers didnt meet. So we are in contract for weeks and they never ran the numbers? I already had half my house in pods. Of course they arent going to refund money they forced me to waste. My wife is 8 months pregnant so they are not a people oriented business at all. They will just screw you over. Now we are not moving thanks to them screwing us over. DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY OFFER ON YOUR HOUSE, THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER!!!!!

As a listing agent representing a seller. This company continuously drug us around, kept extending their inspection period and just to cancel the transaction in the end because it was "Not the buyers criteria". The house and all the information was listed on the MLS so how do you not know it doesn't fit your criteria when all details that are given to you before offering. Terrible business will never work with them again. Not to mention this house was completely flipped so no repairs were needed.

Been trying to communicate with Sylvan for several weeks to get under contract on a residential real estate deal.. Very unresponsive and poor communication. I have wasted weeks on a simple sell.
