What a terrible renting experience. I would encourage you to take your money elsewhere. Jeanne Walters real estate will charge you for absolutely everything that they can. Don’t expect to get your security deposit back. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. The maintenance crew was also terrible! Multiple instances of having someone come out to fix something, only to not fix it properly! Then we’re right back to square one. Jeanne Walters is single handedly one of the worst places I’ve ever rented from. I implore anybody who reads this message; DO NOT RENT FROM JEANNE WALTERS REAL ESTATE.

Jeanne Walters Real Estate is a great group. I have lived in one of their properties for two years now, and have nothing but good things to say about them. Whenever maintenance was needed, they were always quick to respond and would have someone out to the property to fix the problem within 24 hours. Additionally, the property itself was well kept and clean. I would definitely recommend leasing from Jeanne Walters Real Estate because of their great service and properties. Everyone at the office is very helpful too, especially Jackie and Aaron who I've had most of my interactions with. Overall, nothing but positive things to say about this company.

Aaron Vaughn did a fantastic job of showing the home I'm currently renting. The owner is properly proud of the property but I probably wouldn't have ended up renting it if I hadn't viewed it with Aaron first.
Aaron fit my last minute interest into his busy August schedule and seemed to instinctively understand exactly how to highlight the house's charm. He also appreciated my tight timeline and was able to guide me through me provoding supporting documentation to speed up the approval process.

Jeanne Walters is by far, one of the best companies we’ve worked with! As an owner of a company here in Bloomington, they use our services throughout the year and have since early 2017. Every staff member there has always treated myself, and my employees with nothing but respect and a smile! They truly take the time to make sure their tenants stay in some of the nicest places in town (as we’ve been in most of their units, as well as a TON of other companies units throughout town). Extremely fast payment as well! Highly recommended!

I would rather rent a box on the street than deal with the idiotic excuse for a staff that they employ at Jeanne Walters. They were rude from the beginning. They are impossible to get a hold of. When my ceiling fell apart due to water damage in June, I immediately reported it. Contact with me was completely avoided and I even made frequent trips in person to no avail. With promises of discussing the damages -- that were caused by weather that somehow we were responsible for -- I was simply charged $860.00 instead of the discussion I was promised.
In fact, I will never forget my conversation with their representative, Kelly. After I informed her that the tiles fell, she called me two weeks later to tell me it was caused by tenants punching holes in the ceiling. I have not, nor have I ever, had the desire to punch my ceiling. When I told her this, she was adamant to the fact that it was in fact tenant damage. I told her she was wrong when she said, "Just try to prove me wrong." Taken aback by the pure abrasiveness of the phone call, I was confident that I would prove her wrong; I have pictures of the undamaged tiles.
Getting them to do anything is harder than pulling teeth. During a tornado last year, the shutters to my living room were ripped off and blown into the yard. When I reported this, they immediately asked why I did the damage. As if I had the strength or desire to remove my shutter and throw it in my front yard.
Anything and everything reported was tenant damage. Do you want your security deposit back? Good luck. Document everything. I mean everything. Down to the tiniest details: such as prior tenants putting small holes in rooms. I was charged $160 for patching a hole in the wall from the previous tenants poster. Of course I did not notice or think to complain about a small hole in the wall. But you better believe these con artists will.

After living in our house for 4 years, we had to move for a job change but decided to keep our house and rent to tenants. Jeanne Walters served as our rental management firm for 2 years. My wife and I found them to be very professional, provided excellent records, handled any maintenance issues and coordination with Bloomington's rental regulators (HAND) in a timely and effecient manner. I would highly recommend them - we communicated with Avery, Jill, and Sarah - all good.

Bloomington has always had bad home rental agencies, but this is one of the worst in my experience. I am not a student, I’m a permanent resident of Bloomington, so don't think they just rip-off students. They are an equal opportunistic company. I rented a commercial space from them and I can't even count the ways that they were dishonest in their dealings with me right up to charging me for six months of 'back utilities fees' when I moved out because they had 'found another utility box that serviced my space'. So they kept hundreds of dollars of my security deposit, for utilities I knew nothing about and know I didn't use. Utter crooks. You'll be in for a world of pain and could lose your sanity if you try to deal with these people. So rent at your own risk, folks.
